Cotton, silk or lace: which material to choose?

Choosing your lingerie should not only be a matter of aesthetics. It's the garment closest to our body, the one that protects our intimacy throughout the day. However, when faced with labels, it can sometimes be difficult to know what's what. Between natural fibers, artificial materials, and synthetics, here's what you need to know to make the right choice.

Natural fibers: breathability above all

For intimate apparel, natural fibers remain a benchmark for comfort.

  • Cotton: Hypoallergenic and absorbent, it's ideal for everyday wear, especially for panty gussets.
  • Silk: Thermoregulating, it offers unparalleled softness for the most sensitive skin.

Artificial fibers: the gentle alternative (Viscose, Modal, Lyocell)

Often confused with synthetics, materials like viscose are derived from natural resources (often wood pulp) processed by humans.

  • Their strong point: They offer a fluid drape, a silky feel, and are much more absorbent than cotton. It's the ideal compromise for those seeking softness without the fragility of silk.

Synthetic materials: for support and lace

Polyamide and elastane are essential in lingerie for a specific reason: elasticity.

  • Stretch: This is what allows the garment to follow movements without deforming.
  • Lace: It often requires a proportion of synthetic fibers to maintain its fineness and durability over time.

Why is sourcing the real quality criterion?

Beyond the nature of the fiber, it's its origin that matters. A fabric can be natural but treated with irritating chemicals. Prioritizing materials sourced in Europe and certified (like the Oeko-Tex label) guarantees that your lingerie contains no harmful substances for your skin.

The le Téton de Vénus vision: the balance between comfort and ethics

In the workshop, my philosophy is not to use "only natural" at all costs, but to find the best balance for your skin and your comfort.

A blend of technicality and softness
For my creations, I select materials that combine the breathability of natural or artificial fibers (like viscose) with the essential flexibility of stretch. This alliance allows me to create wire-free lingerie that supports without ever compressing.

Total transparency
Every material that passes under my machine is chosen because it meets my criteria: softness to the touch, durability over time, and a composition that respects your skin. I believe that beautiful lingerie is above all lingerie in which you feel good, all day long.
