Material selection and the importance of sourcing

prescilia by

At a time when the textile industry is one of the most polluting in the world, understanding where the thread in our clothes comes from has become a priority. For lingerie, worn next to the skin, the choice of material origin is not just an ecological matter: it's a question of health and lasting quality.

The impact of geographical sourcing: beyond transportation

Choosing locally produced materials (in France or Europe) addresses three major issues:

  • Health safety: Europe imposes the strictest standards in the world (such as the REACH regulation). This ensures that fibers and dyes do not contain endocrine disruptors or carcinogenic substances.
  • Human rights: Local sourcing ensures that work is carried out in dignified conditions, framed by protective social laws.
  • Carbon footprint: Reducing the distance between the weaving location and the manufacturing location is the simplest lever to limit a garment's environmental footprint.

The concept of "existing": what are dormant stocks?

Every year, miles of high-end fabrics are produced but unused by fashion brands. Rather than launching new productions that consume water and energy, the trend of upcycling consists of drawing from these already produced stocks. It's an intelligent way to consume without drawing new resources from the planet.

My vision at the workshop: uncompromising selection

I have chosen to integrate these issues at the heart of Téton de Vénus to offer you lingerie that makes sense.

100% European traceability

I scour textile fairs and select my suppliers with a golden rule: everything must be sourced in Europe. For my fabrics, I prioritize proximity to guarantee you healthy, ethical, and durable lingerie.

The quest for forgotten treasures

A large part of my collections comes to life thanks to dormant stocks and end-of-series from major European fashion houses. I spend hours unearthing these exceptional materials to give them a second life. For you, this ensures lingerie with luxurious finishes, often in very limited editions, while participating in circular fashion that wastes nothing.

By choosing a piece from Téton de Vénus, you know exactly what you are wearing: a noble, healthy material, and manufacturing that respects both your skin and the planet.

And for my packaging, it's the same!

My sourcing approach doesn't stop at the materials of your lingerie. I apply the same rigor to your package: your packaging is entirely of French origin, recyclable, and guaranteed plastic-free. To protect your pieces, I personally make reusable pattern fabric pouches directly in the workshop. This is my way of ensuring that every detail of your purchase respects my values, while also giving you a little gift ♡
